See Pictures of Acne Victims – The “Acne Crime Rate”, A Never Ending Battle!

There are several stages of acne, or should I say, three types of acne conditions:
1) Mild Acne
2) Moderate Acne
3) Severe Acne
In which case, all three would require your attention as soon as possible. Let’s take the milde acne for instance, it is of course the simplest form of acne and can be treated by simply washing your face regularily or cleaning the area where acne is present wiht luke warm water. Apply a mild acne topical solution like Benzoyl Peroxide or Salicylic Acid. Both can be found and purchased over the counter at your local drug store or pharmacy.
Now for moderate acne, this is usually acne that would cover over 50% of your face or somewhere on the body. Not yet the severe stage, but can come close to it if not treated right away. At this stage, I would suggest visiting your dermatologist to get more test done on your skin so that you can be treated with a more stronger acne regimen. Some treatments that would be offered at time of visit could be something like a “blue light theraphy” treatment or you may be prescribed oral medications or even a topical solution.
If you are experiencing the severe stages of acne, this is the type of acne that consumes your entire face and/or body over 50%. These types of acnes appear to be more severe and leave permanent scarring to the skin. They look more inflamed and cyst like as well. If this is where you are at in the stage of acne, it is urgent that you seek medical treatment with your dermatologist as soon as possible! Neglecting to treat the problem, could result in long term facial or body scarring.See Pictures of Acne and Understand the Different Treatment Solutions
Most people think that acne only affects the facial area, but that is further from the truth! Acne can consume the entire body as well if left untreated. Though it is more problematic on the face, back, neck and even arms. Reports show that these body parts affected with acne are the worse cases.
Topical aide such as Benzoyl can help reduce and treat acne with success. Ointments like Benzoyl Peroxide can be easly bought over the counter at your local drug store. Benzoyl will come in several levels of strength factors, from 2.5 and above. Topical medicines like Benzoyl can help minimmize the sebaceous gland activity and unblock clogged pores.
The use of Retonoid cream is also a good way to get fid of acne problems. Retonoid is mainly known for removing white heads, black heads and comedonal acne. But for those who suffer with moderate to severe acne, the best treatment of all is prescribed meds by the dermatologist. Specifically medicines like Menocyline, Accutane, Tretinoin and other will help clear your skin of acne.
If you are left with sightly horrific looking scars to the face or body, there is a home made remedy that it is being used right now called chemical peels. Though it may be a little risky doing this yourself if you are not sure what you are doing, therefore and professional doctor would be the logical choice. In closing to keep and maintain a healthy vibrant looking skin, be sure you are eating a well-balanced meal rich with nutrients, excercise more and get plenty of rest. This treatment is called the “natures cure-all” to vitaility and a healthy lifestyle!

Diet as a natural treatment for acne

Since the skin is the largest organ on the body and it assists other major organs in the human body with eliminating waste, one of the best acne treatments is diet which has many home remedies for acne in the foods that we eat. If you are unhealthy inside it will be reflected in your skin.

Acne occurs when the natural oils that the skin produces clogs the pores of the skin. Normally acne is prevalent in the onset of puberty when the body starts to produce hormones, it has also been known to be a problem for women during pregnancy. Since acne is a problem for people world wide, there are many forms of acne treatments, acne products and acne medications on the market.

A natural treatment for acne is diet, which some say can be an acne cure and for many is the best acne treatment. When I was a teenager I had severe acne and tried using what were considered the best acne treatments at the time.

Retin-A was one of the most popular prescription acne medications on the market at that time. Noxzema skin cream and Clearsil were two of the most popular acne products used among my friends and I. I learned the hard way that Alcohol should not be used as a home remedy for acne and with severe acne cutting back on processed foods replacing them with a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. I thought that diet as a natural acne treatment was going to be bad because until that point I lived junk food.

Using diet as a natural acne treatment was not as bad as I had thought it would be. There are so many foods that act naturally as a home remedy for acne and are often the best acne treatments. At first I thought that it would be easier to just remember when to use acne medication or the other acne products that I was using at the time rather than to give up on junk foods.

The internal home remedy for acne prescribed by my doctor and mother turned out to be for me the best acne treatment used along with all natural acne products like tea-tree oil. To my surprise I enjoyed this change in diet and in a short time I felt like it was an acne cure that was noticeable with in the week.

My mother was happier that I was eating something besides chips and was also happy with what we thought was an acne cure. She was also happy that she did not have to spend a lot of money on acne medications or worry about which over the counter acne products were the best. Who would have thought when I drank naturally sweetened juices and lots of water that it would be a natural acne treatment. My breakouts were far and few in between all because of using diet as an acne treatment turned out to pretty much be an acne cure for me.

There are so many acne treatments on the market today that profess to be the answer to all of your problems but the truth of the matter is you will have to find the best acne products or try to find the best home remedies for you by simply researching on your own.

Some people will require acne medications because more serious illness are the reason for their acne problem. Home remedies for acne through diet can alleviate many of your outbreaks because we truly are what we eat. If the eyes are the window to the soul then the skin is a reflection of your overall health so the beginning of a real cure starts from within.

Acne’s Top 10 FAQ’s

1.) Can you get (catch) acne from other people?

Answer: While certain types of acne do contain a bacterium, it is located in the hair follicles under your skin and can not be transmitted through contact.  So no, touching or kissing someone with acne will not cause you to develop acne.

2.) If both my parents had acne does that mean I will develop acne?

Answer: Studies show that heredity does play an important role in determining who develops acne.  So children of parents who had or have acne are at a grater risk then others.  It should be noted that as with any disease just because you have a family history, does not guarantee you will get it; only that you have a much great chance then someone with no family history.

3.) Does eating or drinking certain foods cause acne?

Answer: Over the years studies have suggested everything from chocolate, candy, fried foods, sugar, drinking water, orange juice to milk can cause you to develop acne or make existing acne worse.  However their is no scientific evidence to support any such results.  There are so many factors effecting acne development that it is very difficult to isolate any one cause.  So whether or not to avoid certain foods or drinks is really just an individual preference.  If you find your skin reacts negatively to certain foods, then just don’t eat or drink it.

4.) Does dirt on my skin cause acne?

Answer: Having proper hygiene will help with healthy skin.  However dirty skin will not cause acne, but anybody with acne should be extra vigilant in having a good cleansing routine.  Over washing can irritate your skin and make it more vulnerable to infection.  Washing with a gentle cleanser will help reduce skin cell build up and keep your skin looking at its best.  So find a balance and try not to over wash.

5.) Does stress cause acne?

Answer: Stress has been shown to make acne worse, not directly cause it.  So if you suffer from acne you should be aware of how you react under stress and develop ways to help manage and keep it under control.  This will not only help with controlling your acne but also benefit your over all health.

6.) Can you develop acne once you are out of your teens?

Answer: The simple answer is yes.  In fact many people who never experienced acne as a teen can develop it in their 30, 40, and 50’s.

7.) Does make up or sunscreen make acne worse?

Answer: Certain products that are overly greasy and thick can plug the skins follicles leading to the development of acne.  Not all products affect everyone the same way, so while you many develop acne using one product someone else may not.  If you are prone to acne you will need to be extra careful with what you put on your skin.  Try to always use oil free products and also test a small amount on a patch of skin for a few days before using it all over.

8.) Will exercising affect my acne?

Answer:  While it is still unclear why this happens, vigorous exercising that causes your body to heat up and sweat does seem to cause acne to get worse for certain people.  One theory is that exercise increases the production of sebum, the oil that when to much is produced can lead to acne.

9.)  Can a facial help with acne?

Answer: There is no easy way to answer this question.  The term facial is used to describe everything from an over the counter product you buy from a drug store and do it yourself to something done at an expensive spa for hundreds of dollars.  The bottom line is anything that might irritate your skin can make your acne worse.

10.) Why does my acne stop responding to my current treatment?

Answer: Acne medication, like all medications can become less effective over time as your body builds a resistance to them.  It might be necessary to use acne treatment regiments on a rotational basis for optimum effectiveness.

How Acne Starts and How yuo Can Stop IT

Acne affects almost everyone — more than 90% of all adolescents, nearly 50% of all adult women and 25% of all adults. Crossing gender lines as well as national borders, it’s one of the most widespread medical conditions in the world. Yet there’s still no cure.

But there is hope. While acne is not curable, it is treatable. We now know more about controlling this condition than ever before. The secret to managing acne is prevention — stopping this condition before it exhibits visual symptoms. Once you have found an acne treatment that helps you accomplish this, it’s important to stick with it. Even after pimples disappear, you may need to continue treatment to keep new blemishes at bay. It’s also crucial to begin treatment as soon as the first signs appear; the sooner you address your acne, the less likely you are to experience permanent damage to your skin. Of course, in order to stop acne, we must first find out how it starts.

What causes acne? One of the most important things you can learn about acne is this:

It’s not your fault. Contrary to popular belief, acne is not caused by anything you’re doing — what you eat, how often you wash your face or work out — but by a combination of factors at work far beneath the surface of your skin.

A healthy follicle
A blemish begins approximately 2-3 weeks before it appears on your skin’s surface. It starts in your sebaceous hair follicles — the tiny holes commonly called pores. Deep within each follicle, your sebaceous glands are working to produce sebum, the oil that keeps your skin moist and pliable. As your skin renews itself, the old cells die, mix with your skin’s natural oils, and are sloughed off. Under normal circumstances, these cells are shed gradually, making room for fresh new skin.

But sloughing is different for everyone. Some people shed cells evenly; some don’t. Uneven shedding causes dead cells to become sticky, clumping together to form a plug — much like a cork in a bottle. This plug, or comedo, traps oil and bacteria inside the follicle.

A plugged follicle
The plug traps oil and bacteria within the follicle, which begins to swell as your skin continues its normal oil production. Your body then attacks the bacteria with a busy swarm of white blood cells. The whole process takes 2-3 weeks, culminating in a pimple.

An inflamed acne lesion
Why me? There is no one simple “cause” of acne — the condition is influenced by many factors, many which are out of your control. The regularity with which you shed skin cells can change throughout your life. The rate at which you produce sebum is affected by your hormone balance, which is often in flux — especially for women. Research has also shown that genetics play a big part in the development and persistence of acne, so your family history is a valuable prediction tool as well when considering the various causes of acne.

One of the best weapons in the fight against acne, however, is knowledge; if you know what causes acne, it’s easier to formulate a good plan of attack. There are five primary culprits contributing to this process. Each of these factors may vary dramatically between individuals. While you don’t have control over these factors, understanding them can help you in your search for the proper acne treatment.

Acne Causes – Culprit #1: Hormones. For the majority of acne sufferers, the trouble begins at puberty, when the body begins to produce hormones called androgens. These hormones cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge, which is a natural part of the body’s development. In acne sufferers, however, the sebaceous glands are overstimulated by androgens, sometimes well into adulthood. Androgens are also responsible for acne flare-ups associated with the menstrual cycle and, on occasion, pregnancy.

Acne Causes – Culprit #2: Extra sebum. When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging — and can cause acne.

Acne Causes – Culprit #3: Follicle fallout. Normally, dead cells within the follicle shed gradually and are expelled onto the skin’s surface. But in patients with overactive sebaceous glands — and in nearly everyone during puberty — these cells are shed more rapidly. Mixed with a surplus of sebum, the dead skin cells form a plug in the follicle, preventing the skin from finishing its natural process of renewal.

Acne Causes – Culprit #4: Bacteria. The bacterium Propionibacterium acnes, (P. acnes for short) is a regular resident of all skin types; it’s part of the skin’s natural sebum maintenance system. Once a follicle is plugged, however, P. acnes bacteria multiply rapidly, creating the chemical reaction we know as inflammation in the follicle and surrounding skin.

Acne Causes – Culprit #5: Inflammation. When your body encounters unwanted bacteria, it sends an army of white blood cells to attack the intruders. This process is called chemotaxis; or, simply put, the inflammatory response. This is what causes pimples to become red, swollen and painful. The inflammatory response is different for everyone, but studies have shown that it is especially strong in adult women.

What can I do? Fortunately, you have options! There are many kinds of acne treatments available today. But first, you should try to determine the type and severity of your condition. Acne, like a person, is highly individual — it can take many forms, and have a highly variable response to treatment. The more you know about your specific form of acne, the more likely you are to find a treatment that works for you. Learn more about the types of acne.

Coconut Oil – Best Natural Acne Treatment

Consider cheaper, alternative, natural, effective treatment methods to get the best care for and clear up your acne, zit, pimple or blackhead problem; and coconut oil is the best treatment I’ve found. Yes, you can do it — look better, feel better, and raise your self-esteem by getting rid of your acne cheaply, naturally and for good. While most forms of acne are merely troublesome or embarrassing, there are some forms of acne that can lead to scarring and pitting of the skin.
People of all races and ages have acne. Acne is one of most common skin conditions in the world, affecting more than 40 million people. Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. For most people, acne goes away by age 30, but people in their forties and fifties still suffer from acne.
Experts just can’t agree on what causes acne. Acne, zits, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads and many other skin disorders are usually, but not always, the result of a bad diet. I think the cause of acne is related to our acidic, inflammatory ’standard American diet’ (SAD) and that would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones.
Since the latest research indicates a connection between stress and acne, make an effort to cut down on stress any way you can. One treatment method some people have used is applying cornstarch, egg whites or milk of magnesia as a facial mask. When you wash your face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin.
There are many natural acne home remedies; you may have to try several to find one that works best for your skin type. Shave carefully and try both electric and safety razors to see which works best for you. For the best acne treatment, which has worked for many, apply virgin coconut oil to the area daily; try it on a small test area for a day or two first.
It’s always best to seek non-invasive and natural treatment for any skin condition. Treatment with raw apple cider vinegar will work better on your skin if it isn’t already noticeably irritated from acne medicines, acne products or other failed treatment. No over-the-counter creams can help your acne from the inside out; they can only kill some of the bacteria on your face and help reduce the redness.
Besides acne, if you also have eczema or dry skin, coconut oil will treat those skin conditions too. Most commercial cleansers are harsh on the face and trying to find the right one for you could cost a fortune. You want to avoid squeezing, pinching, picking or popping your pimples because it can cause scars or leave dark spots on your skin.
Coconut oil is very inexpensive; it’s a good, cheap, natural home remedy. Coconut oil is one of the best, if not the best, treatments I’ve found for acne. Apply it daily, throughout the day if possible and at bedtime. Get the unrefined, unbleached type found at health-oriented food stores like Whole Foods or Wild Oats or order it online.
In any case, no matter what skin or acne treatment you choose, whether it’s chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet alone will be the best treatment you can do for your acne and you’ll achieve overall good health in the process. Drink lots and lots of pure, filtered water every day. Besides external acne treatment it’s even more important to work from the inside out too.
Some alternative doctors recommend eating a raw clove of garlic daily for acne; you can chop one up and add it to your daily salad! Whether you eat a natural diet of living fruits and vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may or may not play some part in acne.
Eating fruits that are red or orange in color will help improve you skin health and help to prevent acne. Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, fresh or dried fruit, such as dates, and figs. Use olive oil with a little very fresh flaxseed oil in your salads.
Drink plenty of pure, filtered water, a minimum of a quart a day. Eating foods with essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin or acne.
Now you don’t have to be one of the unlucky ones left behind because of a lack of knowledge. And you should be able to get rid of your acne, zits and pimples and their symptoms so it doesn’t reoccur. There are many acne products on the market today, some are good, some are cheap and some are not good or cheap; no one knows but you what will work for you.

Natural Tips To Heal Your Acne

Below are some helpful, cheap and natural tips on what to do to keep your acne under control and keep your skin clear. Almost 100% of people between the ages of twelve and seventeen have at least occasional breakouts of whiteheads, blackheads or a pimple, now and then. Because I’m a registered nurse and have come in contact with many acne patients, I’ve learned a lot over the years about acne, acne scars, and acne treatments.
Acne is the most common skin disease. The most common type of acne is acne vulgaris. Acne is one of most common skin conditions in the world, affecting more than 40 million people. Acne will affect almost every person at some stage of their life.
Experts just can’t agree on what causes acne. Doctors think certain factors might cause or contribute to acne including hormone increases in teenage years, hormone changes in pregnancy, starting or stopping birth control pills, heredity, medicines and greasy make-up. The cause of acne is unknown and there is still much to be learned.
For the best acne treatment, which has worked for many, apply virgin coconut oil to the area daily; try it on a small test area for a day or two first. Some natural home remedies include dabbing on non-gel toothpaste or lemon juice to dry out zits. Try a diligent application of coconut oil several times a day and at bedtime to see the healing benefits.
There are many natural acne home remedies; you may have to try several to find one that works best for your skin type. This is a little messy but you can try making a paste by mixing three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon together and applying the paste on your pimples at bedtime for two weeks, and wash it off each morning; honey has anti-bacterial action – a cheap, natural home remedy. Try applying a thin layer of coconut oil and massaging it deep into the skin to heal and soothe the affected area.
Besides acne, if you also have eczema or dry skin, coconut oil will treat those skin conditions too. Remember, that even the most gentle and natural products you might use to clean your face can leave your skin a bit dry; use coconut oil as an excellent way to re-hydrate the skin after using any acne commercial or natural cleanser. Make sure to stay out of the sun if you’re taking any acne medications.
A new, non-invasive treatment using red light and blue light in combination has been extremely successful on severe acne. Acne and its treatment is one of the most misunderstood topics there is when it comes to acne skin care. Shave carefully and try both electric and safety razors to see which works best for you.
Never underestimate the healing, restorative power of a good night’s sleep. A skin specialist in New York is using the new red light-blue light combination therapy to treat severe cases of acne successfully; ask your skin doctor or dermatologist if he’s familiar with it.
When your liver gets overloaded with toxins it’ll send the toxins out through your skin as well as other organs of elimination. To cure yourself of acne, you need to correct the problems going on inside of your body that are causing the acne. The best acne treatment is a diet that will help the body eliminate waste; if you’re eating the standard American diet (SAD) it’ll be reflected in your skin.
Essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne. Besides external acne treatment it’s even more important to work from the inside out too.
Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, fresh or dried fruit, such as dates, and figs. The two most common digestive concerns that affect your skin are not enough water and not enough fiber. Drink plenty of pure, filtered water, a minimum of a quart a day.
Get plenty of sunshine on your arms and legs; sunshine triggers the production of Vitamin D3 which is essential to having healthy skin. The next time you want to have a snack, instead of junk food, help your skin – have an apple, orange, peach, pear, banana, plum, berries or any other fruit.
Don’t give up – try everything you can until you get relief from your acne. Analyze all the acne treatments available and make the best decision for you, based on your circumstances. There are many acne products on the market today, some are good, some are cheap and some are not good or cheap; no one knows but you what will work for you.

When your liver gets overloaded with toxins it’ll send the toxins out through your skin as well as other organs of elimination. In any case, no matter what skin or acne treatment you choose, whether it’s chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet alone will be the best treatment you can do for your acne and you’ll achieve overall good health in the process.
Put two tablespoons of coconut oil in your all fruit smoothies and blend. When the skin is dehydrated, dead skin cells remain on the skin which may block pores and promote acne; drink plenty of water. Good clear skin is often a reflection of a good digestive system.
Concentrating on a diet, of mostly fruits and vegetables (preferably uncooked), and no junk food, should give you an observable improvement in your skin within 30 days. For an easy fiber boost, mix in two tablespoons of ground up flaxseeds into raw applesauce, from two to three apples, made in your food processor.
Fortunately, many people have discovered through trial and error how to cure their acne. Things to be Avoided During an Acne Breakout

Acne is “the” most common of all the skin problems. Most of the teenagers and in some cases adults are affected by acne. Facial acne is the most common but acne can also appear on different parts of the body like the shoulders, upper arms, back and neck. Whiteheads, blackheads, pimples, cysts, nodules are some forms of acne. Most of the teenagers lose their self confidence due to excessive pimples on their skin and they begin to feel shy in facing crowds thus causing constant depression in teenagers. So to overcome this depression a dermatologist should be consulted immediately so that acne can be stopped from spreading.
According to a research around 80% of the people between 12 to 25 years of age suffer from acne. Acne normally clears up within a few years but sometimes it leaves scars on the skin causing constant depression for the affected person.
Some things should be avoided in order to control acne. These things might not be the real cause of acne but they play a vital role in aggravating the acne condition. They include:
Squeezing:
Squeezing and picking the acne should be avoided at all costs. Squeezing your acne can spread it more. Sometimes squeezing can result in acne scars.
Food:
Although medical research is unable to find out a direct link between acne and different kinds of food but still some people think that oily foods, chocolates, pizzas, colas etc. cause acne. This is not true but as a precaution you can avoid these foods in order to control acne.
Over cleansing:
Please avoid over cleansing and over scrubbing your skin. It is of no help. It will only cause irritation and inflammation on your skin. Dirt is not the root cause of acne but it might increase the intensity of acne so wash your face twice a day to get rid of dirt.
Cosmetics:
Cosmetics play an important role in aggravating acne. They can clog pores thus resulting in acne. If it is impossible for you to go without make-up than you should preferably use non-Comedogenic and oil-free cosmetics. Theses types of cosmetics do not clog the pores and thus they are safe to use.
Sweating:
In some people sweating might aggravate the acne condition. So avoid too much exercise if you are suffering from body acne.
Stress:
Stress has no direct links with the acne. There is a possibility that acne can be caused during stress hormonal changes. Sometimes anti-stress medicines can also cause acne.
If you are an acne victim than you should get proper acne treatment and avoid the above mentioned things during acne treatment and hopefully you will come out of this condition.

What the Acne is and Its Causes

Acne is found quite often in pubescent individuals. Because of a high genetic disposition to the condition, acne is particularly common in Western societies. It is believed that the presence of acne is due to an abnormal response to normal levels in the body of testosterone, the male hormone. For many individuals, this response tends to diminish over time, causing the acne to decrease by the time they reach their 20’s, or even disappear. Unfortunately, it is impossible to tell how long it will take for acne to completely disappear; for some people they may experience it for many decades- even beyond their 30’s or 40’s. A large number of people will experience this condition at some point in their life.

There are several different types of acne, as described below:
